Music, art, fun and visibility are the central themes of QueerCity. During this edition we want to focus on queer music performances and DJs! We are going to bring the nightlife to Pakhuis de Zwijger. The DJs will bring all kinds of tunes from all over the world. With this we want to turn the current mainstream music industry upside down and give a stage to queers, trans persons and non-binary persons to share their tunes with us.

This event can only be attended physically at our studio. The recordings will be made available later on and can be viewed via dezwijger.nl/terugkijken or via our YouTube channel.

DJ Amir (they/them) is a Caribbean Lebanese DJ. Playing everything from Latin to hip-hop, their music is meant to get you off your feet and moving your hips (& ass). They are also a co-creator of @club.transmission, providing spaces of Queer joy & healing.

DJ Sonny Jermain (he/she; her/him), or simply SJ from Mthwakazi-Zimbabwe, is a queer activist, radio/club DJ serving up some funky house and Amapiano for the queer community. Abantu (Zulu – power to the people).

Programme seriesQueercity
