“We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.” – Ursula K. Le Guin
In this series, we will playfully consider how our society can be shaped differently. What if the world we lived in was non-exploitative for humans and nature alike? What if value would be seen as more important than ownership? What could that society look like? With ‘Speak to your imagination’, we fantasise about a different way of collective life with a handful of speakers and the audience. Do not expect a standard panel, but a conversation in which everyone can participate.*
On Monday 9 October, you can join the first programme in this three-part series. In the first episode, we will imagine a post-capitalist city. What would the city look like if profit-making was no longer in the foreground? What will happen both physically and socially? See you then!
*The interactive part of the programme is optional. If you only want to listen, you can.
