This evening we’re hosting our third open mic night at New Metropolis Nieuw-West: an open stage for beginning musicians to perform on. Do you have an interesting voice? Do you write your own songs? Looking for a place to experiment and try out new material? Feeling scared but courageous? This open mic is your moment to shine. We’ll be closing the evening with a performance by Dutch singer and poet Fee Reynaert.
Location: New Metropolis Nieuw-West (Burgemeester Rendorpstraat 1, Amsterdam).
How can I participate? Do you want to come and play? Send an email to muziekschoolnieuwwest@gmail.com. Let us know by email what you want to show. You have a maximum of 10 minutes for your act. Are you looking for musicians to accompany you? Let us know in your email, so we can see if that is possible. If we have space, it is also possible to sign up on the evening itself.
Do you want to come and listen? Sign up via the RESERVE button at the top of this page!
About the main performer
Singer and poet Fee Reynaert sorts out her inner dialogues on stage. She vulnerably shares her story through songs in the Dutch language, where various music styles and poetry come together. The listener gets very close and becomes part of her questions and discoveries.
About the initiator
Annemarie Libbers is a singer, singing teacher (CVT technique) and she makes films and musical performances under the name Eye Create Mirrors. She also is part of ‘Die Andere Muziekschool’. She has been writing her own songs for a few years now, both in English and in Dutch. Annemarie: “I participated in a singer-songwriter training at La La Lab. That’s where the idea for this open mic was born. It is fantastic to perform with your own songs, but it is even nicer and more inspiring to be able to share that feeling with other musicians. Who knows what collaborations will result from that.”
Doors open: walk-in.
