Get in the flow during our new open mic night at New Metropolis Nieuw-West: an open stage for musicians, singers, poëts and others to perform on. Do you have an interesting voice? Do you write your own songs? Looking for a place to experiment and try out new material? This open mic is your moment to shine. How do you enter your flow state? Let’s accomplish that together. We’ll be closing the evening with a performance by Dutch-Moluccan singer songwriter Patricia Pattinama.

Location: New Metropolis Nieuw-West (Burgemeester Rendorpstraat 1, Amsterdam).

How can I participate? Do you want to come and play? Send an email to muziekschoolnieuwwest@gmail.com. Let us know by email what you want to show. You have a maximum of 10 minutes for your act. Are you looking for musicians to accompany you? Let us also know in your email, so we can see if that is possible. If we have space, it is also possible to sign up on the evening itself.

About the main performer

Patricia Pattinama

The Dutch-Moluccan singer songwriter Patricia Pattinama brings high vibe of acoustic folk music with country influences. She composes her own music in her own style, with a sensitive character and plays in the healing 432 Hz frequency. Her voice is often referred to as angelic and reminiscent of Enya, Jewel and Snatam Kaur.

The life lessons she experienced can be heard in the intensity of her music and describes the true way she approaches life. Growing up in a musical family, she was musically trained from an early age. She sings about freedom, nature, connection, the wisdom of the heart and the relationship with spirit. With her music, she gives a face to the sensitive feminine essence that needs space in this society. Patricia has been teaching about the healing power of the voice and sound for more than 10 years. Her first album gratitude contains mantras from the Kundalini Yoga tradition. She is currently working on the release of the album Sacred Heart, which will feature her own composed songs. This is to be expected mid-February 2024.

About the initiator

Annemarie Libbers

Annemarie Libbers is a singer, singing teacher (CVT technique) and makes films and musical performances under the name Eye Create Mirrors. She also is part of ‘Die Andere Muziekschool’. She has been writing her own songs for a few years now, both in English and in Dutch. Annemarie: I participated in a singer-songwriter training at La La Lab. That’s where the idea for this open mic was born. It is fantastic to perform your own songs, but it is even nicer and more inspiring to be able to share that feeling with other musicians. I’d also love to find new collaborations with musicians and/or producers.”
